What does Connect Refuge  do?

Connect Refuge provides displaced and low-income individuals with refurbished phones, airtime, and data bundles. These resources allow people in crisis to reconnect with family, access emergency services, attend telehealth appointments, continue education, and apply for jobs.

How do recipients access the service once they receive a phone or data package?

We activate all devices and data before distribution, ensuring recipients can use them immediately. For ongoing needs, we work with community partners to provide continued support and connection.

How is my donation used?

We are committed to radical transparency.

  • 80% goes directly to buying airtime, data, and refurbished phones.

  • 15% supports essential operations like staff, tech tools, and outreach.

  • 5% goes toward fundraising to help us expand support.

How do you ensure donated phones are safe and secure?

Every device is quality-refurbished, tested, and cleared of prior data before being distributed. We also provide basic digital literacy support so recipients can use their phones safely and effectively.

How can I volunteer with Connect Refuge

You can volunteer by contacting us directly via phone or email. We have various opportunities available, from helping at local events to participating in outreach programs.

Who receives the phones and data packages?

We work with trusted local partners—such as shelters, refugee resettlement agencies, and disaster response organizations—to identify individuals and families most in need, including refugees, homeless individuals, and those displaced by natural disasters.

Can I choose where my donation goes?

Yes. Our donation options allow you to pick a “Connection Package” (e.g., $15 Emergency Call Pack, $50 Support Sustainer, $120 Full Lifeline). You can also give a custom amount, and we will ensure it connects families where the need is greatest.

Where do you operate?

Connect Refuge is launching in the U.S.  with a focus on displaced individuals and disaster response. As we grow, we plan to expand globally through partnerships with telecom providers and humanitarian organizations.
